I've set up a git mirror of the svn repo, this is updated whenever a commit is made:
git://git.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i.git Total size of a checkout of all of d-i's history is about 400 mb. The git-svn run to create this took 2+ days on a 2.3 ghz Xeon. This looks basically nothing like real switch of the repo from svn to git would look[1]. It may still be useful if you want to take d-i's history with you on a plane, or keep unreleased branches in git for easier merging, or whatever. It's probably possible to set up git-svn to push changes back into the d-i svn repo too. -- see shy jo [1] Obvious problems include it not being split into submodules, the branches and tags being a total mess (and not exported by default), and committer emails not being included.
