Thanks for the explanation.

How about adding your above text to the time zone d-i page? This would
be useful for newbies and those of us with short memory :)

How about the following.

Please note that if you want to change the time zone you can do so
manually as root user after the initial reboot of the system.
To do so log in as root user and issue the tzselect command.
 "hostname:# tzselect"
