If you can access the shell without problems after the failure, this is
possibly not needed. But you will still need to add the "set -x" somehow
_before_ the preconfiguration file gets loaded.

But network-preseed.postinst doesn't seem to exist when I'm
configuring locale etc.
By the time it does exist, DHCP has already run and I'm at the hostname dialog.
