That is *exactly* my point. So are your remarks about people who need to keep the information usually being easily able to tweak out the few needed bit to deactivate the nice boot environment. I still remember that we once said that one of D-I's main target are those Bob Users we all meet daily (people quite familiar with computers, often empirically, but not deep specialists of Linux environments). Those people will take a nice boot as appealing and count it as one of the arguments that will make them choose Debian. ANd we are all in the mood of other people using the system we develop, aren't we?
