I have two things to report though: 1) There should be an offline installation mode for people who do not want to use the network to download packages. I was prompted whether I wanted to use a Debian mirror to download packages from, and I answered no. Hence I was able to skip the addition of a Debian mirror to sources.list. However I could not make the installer skip the downloading of packages from Debian's security mirror. There should be a way to skip the downloading of packages from the security mirror. The user should be asked whether the use of the Internet connection is wanted. 2) I downloaded the first two CDs of the installation set. However, I was not asked whether I wanted to install anything from another cd. In Sarge the user was prompted whether an additional cd should be scanned or not. It looks like this functionality was removed from Etch. Regards, foraftsu __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
