Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot: [O]
Detect network card: [O]
Configure network: [O] [the first attempt at getting a DCHP lease
reliably times out. Retrying helps.]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]
Partition hard drives: [O]
Install base system: [O]
Clock/timezone setup: [E] System clock wasn't set properly, don't know why.
Installing ntp and restarting it on the final system helped.
User/password setup: [O]
Install tasks: [O]
Install boot loader: [O]
Overall install: [O]

Comments/Problems:

The BIOS that was on my dc7700 was version 1.05 and that had serious
performance issues when booting the final system - not during the
installer tho. It was very slow - needed about 10 minutes to boot to
the login prompt. Upgrading that to the latest - 1.09 - helped. This
isn't a d-i issue, but maybe it will help people who stumble over this
report.

All in all a very quick, painless, and good setup. Thanks.

Let's hope the search engines pick it up :-)

Thank you for your report Peter. I'm closing it as there were no issues.
