Yes, that is correct. I changed this some time ago after seeing for myself how annoying the wait could be. The current timeout is a compromise between not missing connections if it can be avoided and making it short enough to be a lot less annoying. I missed your report when looking into this (probably because of the title). We plan to rethink apt-setup a bit for Lenny, so it makes sense keep your report open for that. Cheers, FJP
