No idea about this particular problem. It is outside the scope of the 
installer.
What X.Org video driver are you using? The default ones or the non-free 
ones from nVidia? In the last case you should not expect too much 
support. If you're using the free driver, I suggest you file a bug report 
against the package that provides the driver.

If you don't know which driver you are using, check the "Device" section 
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

I do see that your graphics controller may not be automatically detected 
during the installation, which may have something to do with your 
problems if the correct is not being used.

This controller is not yet defined in the discover database which is used 
for detecting the correct video driver.

This sounds like a configuration problem. you should be able to configure 
things so that the network is automatically set up. I suggest you ask for 
help with this on the debian-user mailing list.
