I have the same problem with Debian Etch for amd64. Installer says
that no hard drive was detected and offers me to choose necesary
module manualy. But if choose the module I got the same message. If I
do lsmod it seems that necesary modules are loaded
sata_nv, libata, scsi_mod
I loaded the following modules using insmod
mptscsih, mptbase, sd_mod, sg, sr_mod, st
But when I go one step back at the instalation and try the hard drive
detection again there is no difference. Shell I check another module?
