I seriously doubt that a IDE controller driver _only can work_
in a _monolithic kernel_.  ( monolithic being the opposite of modular )

No worries. The idea behind asking filtered output is to encourage
people think with us about the issue, example giving removing non
related things. So thank you for removing sound modules.

which one is for the Marvel PATA controller?

So the system has actual 3  IDE controllers.

Please provide the output of 'lspci -nn' for these PCI devices.
