I think this is because gnome-desktop-environment depends on
epiphany-browser | gnome-www-browser, and gnome-www-browser is provided
by firefox-gnome-support (or iceweasel-gnome-support), which is part of
the gnome-desktop task.

Which logs do you need? I'll send you as soon as the machine is up
again.
