For your system I suggest you try to install Debian Etch, using one of the
installation images available from:
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/
It is extremely likely that the kernel available in Debian Sarge just does
not support your hardware. Note that Etch is scheduled to be officially
released very soon, but that there are currently some issues with
installing a graphical desktop environment:
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/Today
You can avoid these issues by downloading a _full_ Etch RC1 CD or DVD
image.
Closing this report as for your hardware problems installing Etch are to
be expected. Feel free to file a new report after trying the Etch
installer.
