If I were to prepare an installer image that included the tgafb module, would you be able to test it to see whether that's sufficient to get the installer working for you on the monitor instead of the serial console? Would an ISO image or a netboot image be preferable for you? I'm happy to see if we can get the installer working on tgafb, but I don't have any machines with TGA to test on.
