I just searched through http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/de.i386/apa.html and didn't find it. Googling for it revealed one thread where this installation procedure was mentioned as a sidenote. Even if it were in the official docs I doubt a newbie would find it. The people I know just take the installation CD and expect a guided installation. My intuition would expect at least a choice within the "Desktop" task. Be it XFCE, Gnome, KDE or whatever. We are not Ubuntu - we give the users the choice. I doubt that "Gnome" is the official Debian desktop manager. I don't mean to offend anyone but I'm not happy with the current solution. And my personal 2ยข: in my own experience newbies get along much better with KDE than with Gnome. Kindly Christoph -- ~ ~ ".signature" [Modified] 1 line --100%-- 1,48 All
