Description:
The debian installer for etch beta 3 did not accept accented letters for
the user name. The letters displayed incorrectly and messed the input line.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start installing Debian Etch beta 3 on some computer from the netinst CD.
2. Give a user name containing letters "äöåÄÖÅ".
Expected results:
The accented letters shall cause no problems. They should be probably
encoded with UTF-8.
Actual results:
The accented letters get displayed by sequences like "<F6>" in the input
line. Cursor is positioned incorrectly in the line after writing the
accented characters.

System information:
The default kernel and libc of etch beta 3.
