Hi, there; I failed to install debian on my laptop (Toshiba Tecra A3 with a DVD/CD-RW combo) for several months and after reading the recent Howto http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SataAtapiHowto I decide to have another try.
I downloaded a debian testing cd by jigdo yesterday. The information about that latest jigdo file: $ ./jigdo-lite debian-testing-i386-binary-1.jigdo Jigsaw Download "lite" Copyright (C) 2001-2005 | jigdo@ Richard Atterer | atterer.net Loading settings from `/import/eno/2/hfeng/.jigdo-lite' ----------------------------------------------------------------- Images offered by `debian-testing-i386-binary-1.jigdo': 1: 'Debian GNU/Linux testing "Etch" - Official Snapshot i386 Binary-1' (debian-testing-i386-binary-1.iso) Further information about `debian-testing-i386-binary-1.iso': Generated on Mon, 01 May 2006 03:18:30 +0200 ... After burning this cd, I tried the command "install libata.atapi_enabled=1" at the beginning of installation and it failed again to find any CDROM. I will take another try on a unstable cd this afternoon. -- Sincerely, Feng, Hui -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
