I'll answer to this issue in a separate mail. > I would like to see a change on the 'Install the base packages' page. > I would like to see more information shown as to what is going > on...info such as is shown when using 'wget' or 'apt-get'...ie...name > of package, # of bytes in the package, # of bytes downloaded as the > download proceeds, and the speed of the download. This is currently not possible as the package that the installer calls to install the base system does not provide that information. > I do like the fact that the 'Install the base packages' routine is > downloading from the internet rather than the CD...getting the latest > packages. Well, that is both a bug and a feature. It's a bug because for daily/weekly builds netinst and full CD's the CD is currently completely ignored. The cause for this has been identified and rectified. It's a feature because you can indeed have the installer use both the CD and a mirror as source. It should then take packages that have not been updated from the CD and those that have from the mirror.
