It might have been nice to have a little more contextual help the first time into aptitude as I found it confusing until I got the hang of how to get around/what keys did what. I also had trouble setting up Grub as it was not clear what it was telling me to do. It would be nice if it told you how to set up dual boot. Instead I can only boot into Linux (which I will fix shortly). --------------------------------------- Received: (at 282452-done) by bugs.debian.org; 9 Dec 2004 12:07:29 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Dec 09 04:07:29 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from 195-240-184-66-mx.xdsl.tiscali.nl (elrond.fjphome.nl) [195.240.184.66] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CcN4y-0003HY-00; Thu, 09 Dec 2004 04:07:29 -0800 Received: from strider.fjphome.nl ([10.19.66.86] ident=fjp) by elrond.fjphome.nl with esmtp (Exim 3.35 #1 (Debian)) id 1CcN4R-0004KZ-00; Thu, 09 Dec 2004 13:06:55 +0100 From: Frans Pop <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Kit O'Connell" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bug#282452: Install Report Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2004 13:06:55 +0100 User-Agent: KMail/1.6.2 References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: On Monday 22 November 2004 09:28, Kit O'Connell wrote: > Install was quite easy and straight forward. The installer does detect other operating systems and adds a boot option for them in grub, except if you selected a mountpoint for your windows partition during partitioning. I would expect that's what happened [1]. [1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=251794 Closing this installation report as there were no real issues. Thanks for submitting your report.
