Comments/Problems: Tried to install woody (previously loaded on an ASUS P3 system in 2003) on new ASUS P4 system. Proceeded from initial configuration through install drivers, OK. <Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.> Tried to load a copy of the basedebs tarball from a CD, using the manual option. The CD was checked and then processed, ending in the error: /pool/main/u/util-linux/util-linux_2.11n-4_i386.deb was not pre downloaded This is possibly related to another installer failure, trying to load sarge on a P3 system; a bug to be filed. I suspect the memory management of these two systems are different; this P4 system requires Windows 98 SE or later to run, and with Windows 95 it reports protection error while initializing the IOS. On the other hand, I took a copy of the whole woody base installation (about 80 MB) and copied it into the root on this P4 and got it to boot. jjwdeck
