Hey, I installed Debian Sarge very well supported the almost of my hardware, but I get some problem.. the installer don't detected my sound plate (it's mencioned on the subject) but in the older installers that was not an problem..
Another thing that I had an problem was the with the tree 2.4 of the d-i, when I tried to boot up the system crash on the USB modprobe.. so I restart the machine and boot it up again but with no USB probe now.. and It boot nice and I had my keyboard USB working fine anyway.. I installed very well when I boot up to my new system we crash again on USB and don't let me enter further.. I think I can take it like a bug don't you think? The last problem it's from the kernel's 2.6.7 SMP and 2.6.8! When I boot up with them I have messages in the shell's that are repeated very fast.. In the 2.6.7 (it's what I'm using now) is showed something like this: --- BEGIN --- Nov 28 00:19:03 localhost kernel: handlers: Nov 28 00:19:03 localhost kernel: [__crc_pm_idle+1388529/5541136] (ide_intr+0x0/0x1e0 [ide_core]) Nov 28 00:19:03 localhost kernel: [__crc_pm_idle+1267985/5541136] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70 [usbcore]) Nov 28 00:19:03 localhost kernel: Disabling IRQ #18 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: irq 18: nobody cared! Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [__report_bad_irq+42/144] __report_bad_irq+0x2a/0x90 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [note_interrupt+112/176] note_interrupt+0x70/0xb0 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [do_IRQ+352/416] do_IRQ+0x160/0x1a0 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [common_interrupt+24/32] common_interrupt+0x18/0x20 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [default_idle+0/64] default_idle+0x0/0x40 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [default_idle+44/64] default_idle+0x2c/0x40 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [cpu_idle+59/80] cpu_idle+0x3b/0x50 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [unknown_bootoption+0/352] unknown_bootoption+0x0/0x160 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [start_kernel+436/528] start_kernel+0x1b4/0x210 Nov 28 00:19:05 localhost kernel: [unknown_bootoption+0/352] unknown_bootoption+0x0/0x160 --- END --- In the 2.6.8 I think it's diferent.. and I can't shutdown because it stops on acpi_called_dow (I think it's this..) and one more thin.. I have the 2.6.7 SMP so it had to work with 2 or more cpu's but in the system monitor of gnome it's showed to me just on CPU working.. it's a king of wierd.. So I think it's all.. If you need more information just ask (and I think you'll..) And just to finish.. The d-i it's just brilliant!! Keep the good work guy's..
