Package: installation-reports Debian-installer-version: http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sid_d-i/hppa/20041118/ Method: Boot from internal CD-ROM
Machine: HP C200 Memory: 128MB Root Device: /dev/sda Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot worked: [O] Configure network HW: [O] Config network: [O] Detect CD: [O] Load installer modules: [O] Detect hard drives: [O] Partition hard drives: [O] Create file systems: [O] Mount partitions: [O] Install base system: [O] Install boot loader: [O] Reboot: [O] Comments/Problems: Install went fine, completely hands-free using a preseed file. After reboot the kernel panicked during "Testing apt sources..." with: Kernel panic: ccio-dma.c: ccio_alloc_range() I/O MMU is out of mapping resources In interrupt handler - not syncing There was some activity regarding this error on the parisc-linux mailing list way back in 2000, and it was claimed fixed, but I'm not sure when/if that got into the upstream kernel source. A 2.6 kernel doesn't seem to be available on the hppa image otherwise I would try that. If nothing else this might need to be documented in the release notes as a problem on certain hardware configurations (C200 only?)
