I have a very similar problem on my Gericom EGO laptop. After getting the Grub error reported, I tried to overwrite GRUB with LILO. LILO just puts 'L' on the screen before freezing. Can anyone advise/assist me with this problem? At the moment, my laptop is unusable, and I can't see a way of fixing it :( Phil
