There are several known problems with CD-ROM support that are very difficult to fix. Please first try installing using one of the daily built images from: http://www.nl.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ Also, you should check if there is anything you can use in existing bug reports: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?which=pkg&data=cdrom-detect&archive=no Cheers.
