Hi Joey, Thank you for your inqiry about the bug I reported. And I am sorry to my late response due to my other commitment. I installed 3 ways: just simply hitting return, linux26, and expert26. Here is my new installtion report:

Overall the installation process is very improved especially in the area of HW detection: discovery. But I still miss manual over-ride of discover feature. After discover's text output of identified HW, we comment out some "do-not-want-to-be-included" HW list. Then we can enjoy controlled HW environment. 2. Simple2.4 use only 896MB out of 2GB due to kernel option. Properly it identifies 2 CPUs, but apparently smp kernel is not installed. 3. linux26 's dmesg misses first few lines of proper dmesg output. I have attached it with this report. 4. In expert26, I first tried to install lilo, but the following message: lilo installation failed Running "/sbin/lilo" failed with error code "1" But different from linux26, dmesg output is OK. 5. I do not like grub because of its relative hdx numbering conventions. Suppose I had hda, and hdc, and later on I add hdb, then I do not think grub can correctly identify the boot partition at hdc. We all know the d-i team effort is nearing its completion. Excellent work. Thank you to all of you who are involved. Toshikazu Aiyama, Ph.D. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
