Configured static network. Hard disk was already partitioned from previous Gentoo installation, so i just created/mounted filesystems (ext2 for boot, reiserfs and swap). Installed Grub, but it failed to boot after reboot, because it had (hd0,2) as the root partition instead of (hd0,0) which is where i mounted /boot. So I had to boot via grub command-line. Base-config run fine. I got two stalls while downloading packages which resulted in the packages being skipped. Installation proceeded fine after retry in both cases. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 238039-done) by bugs.debian.org; 2 Oct 2004 15:29:09 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Oct 02 08:29:09 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from kitenet.net [64.62.161.42] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1CDlor-0002d0-00; Sat, 02 Oct 2004 08:29:09 -0700 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (unknown [66.168.94.144]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "Joey Hess", Issuer "Joey Hess" (verified OK)) by kitenet.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id ED15A18406 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sat, 2 Oct 2004 15:29:07 +0000 (GMT) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 782C06E0D4; Sat, 2 Oct 2004 11:30:17 -0400 (EDT) Date: Sat, 2 Oct 2004 11:30:17 -0400 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: closing Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="pWyiEgJYm5f9v55/" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040907i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --pWyiEgJYm5f9v55/ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I'm quite sure that the installer supports installing grub with /boot on a separate partition now. --=20 see shy jo --pWyiEgJYm5f9v55/ Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBXsmId8HHehbQuO8RAkOZAKDbnQ/+aSHQjh+d5Mf2Y2xC9hFnSQCfRsLk 6iDhwOtIAoC69ZEt1cBan9M= =d9hN -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --pWyiEgJYm5f9v55/-- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
