I did what Joey Hess asked me to do. Downloaded sarge-i386-netinst.iso from
October 15 and did a test installation. (Language Czech, Location
Prague, keyboard layout US, everything else default). Unfortunately I have
to report the bug #253198 is still alive and doing well ...

Czech locale is OK during both stages of installation. After the first reboot
a message "info: Switching console charset mapping to ISO-8859-2" blinks
and all questions of second stage installer are well readable in perfect
Czech. Nevertheless when quiting aptitude (using CTRL-C, since I
prefer dselect) system decides to cancel Czech locale. A message

info: Switching console charset mapping to ISO-8859-1"

appears followed by login prompt. From that moment Czech output is mangled.
I install the package fonty (as usual) and it corrects the problem.

I hope you find this report useful.
