Comments/Problems:

I popped the disc in, booted, used 'linux26 vga=791' at the prompt
and everything went smooth until it was time to detect the hard
drives. They didn't appear. I looked at dmesg and didn't see any
sign of controllers. So, I dropped to console on vt2 and manually
did a:

modprobe sata_promise

dmesg showed the controller and drives recognized but the installer
wouldn't pick up. Based on something I read on google, I rebooted,
and at the first prompt for language, dropped to vt2 and installed
the module with 'modprobe'

This time, the drives were correctly found and easily partitioned.
Other than that, the install went smoothly.

This is probably already a fixed issue (since my iso is old but I
didn't have any spare media around to try a new daily) but I wanted
to mention it just in case.

Cheers,

asg
