Package: boot-floppies Version: N/A; reported 2004-09-22 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
Debian Sarge-rc1 CD installation image (the one downloader from http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/i386/rc1/sarge-i386-netinst.iso) have problems during installation of 'linux26' When the "install base system" phase starts, I get a red screen tailling that there was an error in debootstrap: "The debootstrap program exited with an error (return value 1)." In the 3rd terminal it reads: Unpacking base-files (from .../base-files_3.1_i386.deb) ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/base-files_3.1_i386.deb (--install): subprocess pre-installation script killed by signal (Segmentation fault) Ater this, I chroot to /target to see if I could run the command manually, but I found that any command I type in chroot, ends with a "segmentation fault" and the chroot command exit. I guess this is the same that happened during install. I get the same issue using sarge-mini.iso install image. In both cases the installatin toke place in a vmware 4.0 In a real machine, this does not happens. -- System Information Debian Release: Sarge-rc1 Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux 2.6.7-1-386 Hardware: VMWare Workstation 4.0 CPU: AMD Duron 1Ghz -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
