I have already tested a trivial patch that does _not_ add packages that are installed immediately to the queue. And that seems to work. How about adding these packages to the queue-file as '# <packagename>'? Then it would simply be a case of filtering out lines starting with '#' in procedure install_extra in base-installer's postinst.
