The point is that the selection seems to default to the first country in the Alphabet, i.e. 'Belgium' in this case. As we found out on -devel today, there are a couple of people speaking german in Belgium, but the vast majority lives in Germany. If this is not a too politically sensible area, it would be nice to have defaults for a couple of language/country pairs, at least for the more commonly spoken ones after Sarge. However, you might to avoid that in order to play the 'Countries/Territories/Areas are strictly ordered by alphabet, with the selection defaulting to the first one' card, dunno. Just a suggestion, I was a bit surprised by the default selection, but nowhere near offended or so, of course. Michael [1] Uhm, I hope countrychooser is the right package to file this bug for. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.7-1-686 Locale: LANG=POSIX, [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------- Received: (at 265161-close) by bugs.debian.org; 7 Sep 2004 20:23:32 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Sep 07 13:23:32 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1C4mV2-0004jf-00; Tue, 07 Sep 2004 13:23:32 -0700 Received: from katie by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1C4mOw-00022i-00; Tue, 07 Sep 2004 16:17:14 -0400 From: Christian Perrier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.51 $ Subject: Bug#265161: fixed in languagechooser 1.30 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 07 Sep 2004 16:17:14 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: X-CrossAssassin-Score: 4 Source: languagechooser Source-Version: 1.30 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of languagechooser, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: languagechooser_1.30.dsc to pool/main/l/languagechooser/languagechooser_1.30.dsc languagechooser_1.30.tar.gz to pool/main/l/languagechooser/languagechooser_1.30.tar.gz languagechooser_1.30_all.udeb to pool/main/l/languagechooser/languagechooser_1.30_all.udeb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
