I'm currently trying debian-installer rc1 on alpha. The installer works great, I went all along the process and haven''t got any problem. However on first boot after installation, I get an error from initrd. The machine contains a Symbios Logic 531c810 SCSI controller. During installation, the debian-installer loads the module named ncr53c8xx and its works great. On the other hand, during normal boot up process, the initrd loads the module sym53c8xx wich complains there is no such device and then hangs because it can't mount root fs.
