I burnt one more cd from another box, just to test if there was something wrong with the laptop cd burner. Unfortunately the result didnt change. I had the chance to run the 3 cd's I have burnt on another computer that is not 64bit, and it gives me the same result on boot: screen filled with colored rectangles and blinking crufted text. Is it the expected behaviour for a ia64 installer running on a i386 machine? Anyway the bug is about the ia64 beta4 installer failing to boot on a ia64 machine.
