In regards to bug #239464 I ran into a similar situation: Debain-installer businesscard .iso daily snapshot from July 14 2004 or thereabouts: It repeatedly installed a -k7 kernel on a dual processor Intel Pentium II system, leading to a reboot soon after GRUB passed things on. I had the same problem on an Intel P4 system I tried the beta2(?) installer on some time ago. In that case the beta3 installer fixed the problem, but I think for the wrong reasons:
I'm pretty sure that in the old case, as well as today it failed because I chose "stable" as the distro to track. Selecting "testing" makes it install a good -686 kernel. I guess that's how I fixed it by mistake last time. I'll change the sources.conf to track "sarge" instead of "testing", and then when things become stable I'll be all set. I suppose when Sarge is released this may not be an issue as stable becomes what's on the CD?? or not. (It also gave me a 2.4-k7 kernel when I ran linux26 -> stable) regards, Hamish -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
