And won't work in the general case for guest LANs under z/VM on S/390: virtual QDIO devices do not, prior to z/VM 4.4, have unique MAC addresses, as they're purely Layer 3. In z/VM 4.4 they can have MAC addresses assigned in their directory entries, but this is a choice the VM administrator has to make.
