But I was helping out rather quickly when problems occoured, I didn't tested if she would manage to install Debian herself without my help. And I avoided some of the complexity by using a DHCP server. >From a technical pov all went smooth and fine, only a few usability nitpicks: The keyboard chooser has as default for a German install something like "german (no deadkeys)". I don't know how many people will actually understand the word "deadkeys" but it strongly confuses the others. I'm not sure if this notion serves any purpose without an explanation. (Of course in fact it says "deutsch (keine Tottasten)" but the translation has nothing to do with the problem) What do the symbols "flash" and "smile" in partman mean? I normally ignore them and just realised this now. Wouldn't it be better to explain them? I don't find them intuitive to understand (in fact I still don't know what they mean, they are not explained in the installation manual either). I think the proxy question should have a "if you don't know what I'm talking about, just try to leave this blank" in it. I also found some problems in the german translation of base-config but will mail them directly to the translator. In general: Great Installer :) Gruesse, -- Frank Lichtenheld <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> www: http://www.djpig.de/ --------------------------------------- Received: (at 247477-done) by bugs.debian.org; 9 Jul 2004 20:58:32 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jul 09 13:58:32 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from lns-th2-5f-81-56-227-253.adsl.proxad.net (kheops.homeunix.org) [81.56.227.253] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Bj2Rz-0001DC-00; Fri, 09 Jul 2004 13:58:32 -0700 Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by kheops.homeunix.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CC1914064 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:58:00 +0200 (CEST) Received: from kheops.homeunix.org ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (kheops [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 19056-07 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:57:57 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mykerinos.kheops.frmug.org (mykerinos.kheops.frmug.org [192.168.1.3]) by kheops.homeunix.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 639B34062 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:57:57 +0200 (CEST) Received: from localhost (mykerinos.kheops.frmug.org [127.0.0.1]) by mykerinos.kheops.frmug.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DB8BC23291 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:57:48 +0200 (CEST) Received: from mykerinos.kheops.frmug.org ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (mykerinos [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id 13302-09 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:57:37 +0200 (CEST) Received: by mykerinos.kheops.frmug.org (Postfix, from userid 7426) id B784023290; Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:57:37 +0200 (CEST) Date: Fri, 9 Jul 2004 22:57:37 +0200 From: Christian Perrier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: This bug is solved for a while Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline X-message-flag: Outlook is a good virus spreading tool.
