I try to fix the problem you reported in bug #255388. Could you please provide this additional info: - Did you install with kernel 2.4 (boot option: linux) or 2.6 (boot option: linux26)? - Which modules do you need to load with your existing Linux installation to access the cdrom? What kernel version is this? - Are you able to install when manually modprobing these modules on the second screen before the cd-detection in debian-installer? - Could you eventually retest with a newer image[1] just to see if the problem has been fixed in the meantime.
