I don't know what Debian's kernels do... Well we obviously need a bug report for this. Mainly what I found on google= =20 for this error message were suggestions to make sure that ISA support was in the kernel, which it is for the d-i boot kernel: CONFIG_ISA=3Dy CONFIG_EISA=3Dy CONFIG_ISAPNP=3Dm In private mail, Jan L=C3=BCbbe reported he also had the problem with 2.6.0= -test9, and that he solved it by "building with isa-pnp not as a module". I've tried loading isa-pnp on my notebook before starting pcmcia, but it doesn't do anything. I did find a way to make it work for me. If I comment out either or both of these lines in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts, my orinoco card works: exclude irq 4 exclude irq 7 It seems it can only use irq 4 or 7, no others work for some reason. /proc/interrupts shows only these irqs in use: 0, 1, 2, 8, 14, 15. The card= bus controller is on 3. Why can't it use irqs 3, 5, 6, or 10-13, or share an IR= Q? I don't know. Perhaps for d-i we should remove the exclude irq lines entirely from the config.opts. I really don't know. --=20 see shy jo --ReaqsoxgOBHFXBhH Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/8kCAd8HHehbQuO8RAgHmAKCIAVQPMZEsVqy3ko+v0sCf3H6+rgCgxCGp Fp+4FtAIZ3dcBdC/Z2NtmK4= =45iE -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --ReaqsoxgOBHFXBhH-- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 225622-done) by bugs.debian.org; 27 Jun 2004 18:03:40 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jun 27 11:03:40 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from kitenet.net [64.62.161.42] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Bee0C-0003Yk-00; Sun, 27 Jun 2004 11:03:40 -0700 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (unknown [66.168.94.147]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "Joey Hess", Issuer "Joey Hess" (verified OK)) by kitenet.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4682B187B6 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 27 Jun 2004 17:59:05 +0000 (GMT) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id D9FB06EDFE; Sun, 27 Jun 2004 13:58:57 -0400 (EDT) Date: Sun, 27 Jun 2004 13:58:57 -0400 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: closing Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="J/dobhs11T7y2rNN" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040523i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-3.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --J/dobhs11T7y2rNN Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable The pcmcia resource range question should handle this. --=20 see shy jo --J/dobhs11T7y2rNN Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFA3wrhd8HHehbQuO8RAtV6AJ9PlJQspHkowMJ1La/N0ZlVNy232QCgo99y DA1T0J1A3LQOtpPMzySTlUI= =0VRO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --J/dobhs11T7y2rNN-- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
