Comments/Problems:
I tried the installation according to 5.1.3 of the manual ("booting
from linux using LILO or GRUB") with lilo (as of woody).
I tried it with the images from
http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/hd-media/ (both 2.4
and 2.6) and from
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-i386/beta4/images/hd-media/
(only 2.4).
Both 2.4 cases ended with the error message:
Cannot open root device "" or 3a:04
The 2.6 boot ended with the error message:
RAMDISK: incomplete write (-28 != 32768) 8388608
In all three cases there was a final kernel panic.

I'm now going to try my luck with the netinst.iso of beta-4.
