Maybe the following issue I noticed doing a floppy install (i386 sid_d-i 20040616 priority=medium) could be fixed at the same time. The numbers between brackets are the menu-items from /var/lib/dpkg/status. Before a driver floppy is loaded the menu is: - - Choose language (10) - - Load drivers from a floppy (12) - - Select a keyboard layout (12) - - Detect network hardware (15) After loading the net-drivers or cd-drivers floppy 'Choose country or region' (11) will inserted _before_ 'Load drivers from a floppy'. This is not logical as that step has already been executed. With the cd-drivers floppy, two other menu items are added: - - Choose language (10) - - Choose country or region (11) - - Detect and mount CD-ROM (14) - - Load drivers from a floppy (12) - - Select a keyboard layout (12) - - Load installer components from CD (14) - - Detect network hardware (15) I don't understand why main-menu puts 'Detect and mount CD-ROM' before 'Load drivers from a floppy' as it breaks the sort by menu-item. It should be in it's normal place just before 'Load installer components from CD'.
