Thanks a lot for your fast reply.
I temporary worked around the problem, by introducing my own
kernel-image-2.4-XXX packages, but I'd like to try the experimental
branch too.
How much experimental is it? Is it safe to grab it and replace the
version which comes with the beta4 d-i?
