Package: installation-reports I am writing this from memory at work, so not all the fields are filled.

There is no indication what will happen if you answer no. There should at least be a note saying that if you answer no, you'll have a chance to install it somewhere else on the next screen. On the next screen you say that you can use grub notation hd0 or standard /dev notation to install grub somewhere else. I wrote "/dev/hda2" (without quotes of course). Installer tried to install grub but returned an error. I then returned to previous screen to install grub in mbr and it worked. Here I have a few comments: 1. Installing boot loader in some other partition has grub notation "hd0,x" for partitions where x is partition number starting from 0, not "hd0" as you say in the text. Am I correct? 2. Also, you only say "standard /dev notation". You should give a complete example. I tried with "/dev/hda2" but it didn't work. 3. If you can't install grub on other partitions like lilo but you can install it on other disks giving only the disk notation (hd1 or /dev/hdb), it isn't clearly stated on these screens. But I would really prefer having these two screens (mbr and other) merged into one screen, where you can choose where to install grub. And you give a complete example of every possible option (mbr, other disk, other partition? ). That would be so much simpler. Internet connection: The installer is made for boxes connected to a network. There is no option or help for typical home users having DSL-connection. At the end it asks for a debian repository to start to download packages. Here is where the installation stops, because there is no DSL support in the installer and so no connection to the internet. It would be great if you have a option for DSL. Just ask for a user name and password and instructions how to start and stop the connection (I pay pro minute so I want to be able to start and stop it at will and also to see when the connection is up). Keyboard: Kudos for you for separating language and keyboard layout. I live in Germany with a German keyboard but prefer my computer to talk to me in English. But when choosing the keyboard layout, it would be great if you could have an extra input field for testing it after choosing to see if you made the right choice. That's it for now.
