i just experienced the same error with man-db using debian-installer beta3 for powerpc.
i'm running this on a blue iMac G3 (named "kodkod"), and i get the same error Laurent described during installation of the base system: dpkg:error processing man-db (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 i found that this was related to the system clock on the motherboard being set to something absurd like 1904 (i think the motherboard battery is dead on kodkod). when i forced the motherboard's clock to show something close to the correct time, and then restarted the installation process (without removing power from the machine), the installation continues on. here's how i reset the system clock after man-db failed: Alt-2 to activate another console, then: # export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/target/lib # /target/bin/date -s '14 April 2004' # /target/sbin/hwclock --systohc hth, --dkg -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
