I can read there already is some discussion about ergonomics. I also got confused about this "Continue" that, _in this particular dialog_, seems to be a fifth option, but that was okay. If I were really confused or worried about my data on the disk, I guess I would have stuck with the four action items, leaving untouch this "Continue" for which I am not sure about. I really liked the fact that I could configure everything, from partition size to esotheric options like noatime, and I also liked the table that recaps all that (no more "Wait, /dev/hda5 was my /tmp or my /var?"). However, I remembered configuring each partition took quite a lot of key presses (tab, arrow, arrow, enter, tab, arrow, enter, ...). I don't remember the exact order, but I feel that "Use this partition" should be the default, just like "Create a fs", and then "Determine mount point" if you have just created anything but swap (sorry for the inexact prompts). A small quirk: I mis-entered a partition size once ("100" is interpreted as "100 B" ?? Alright...), so I resized it, and, ... Mmm. I am sorry I can not remember exactly, but I got the impression that it created a FS just before trashing it by resizing it, or that it did something after resizing that I had to undo. I only took a few seconds, so as a user, I was not upset. With regards to the bootloader, installing grub took sooo long, that I thought it crashed, and it defroze just a second before I pushed the reset button. If it is normal to take such a long time, a "This may take a few minutes..." [ ;-) ] would be welcome. Also, and finally, lilo was also installed and I found it confusing, because I knew grub was already installed (I could rememeber the scary +-------------------------+ | grub installation | | blah blah blah boo bar | | blah blah blah boo bar | | blah blah blah boo bar | | Please enter the frubag | | (hd0) | +-------------------------+ ;-) --------------------------------------- Received: (at 239561-done) by bugs.debian.org; 12 Apr 2004 02:07:32 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Apr 11 19:07:32 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from kitenet.net [64.62.161.42] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1BCqrE-0001jl-00; Sun, 11 Apr 2004 19:07:32 -0700 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (216-98-93-157.access.naxs.com [216.98.93.157]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "Joey Hess", Issuer "Joey Hess" (verified OK)) by kitenet.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id DD65418BC8; Mon, 12 Apr 2004 02:07:30 +0000 (GMT) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 058B66F287; Sun, 11 Apr 2004 22:07:09 -0400 (EDT) Date: Sun, 11 Apr 2004 22:07:09 -0400 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: bug fixed Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="opJtzjQTFsWo+cga" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.5.1+cvs20040105i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3.1 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,SORTED_RECIPS, SUSPICIOUS_RECIPS autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: *** --opJtzjQTFsWo+cga Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable These bugs were fixed in a recent release of partman. --=20 see shy jo --opJtzjQTFsWo+cga Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAefnNd8HHehbQuO8RAjDvAKCBfZrjUuVE2KsUlDpDow5cY9wRCACgyMCz bAWOxynvj+cxmdeGYey1E10= =Wq8J -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --opJtzjQTFsWo+cga-- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
