Hello. I have just the same problem - can't install debian on sun blade 2000. But in my case I can not do it with any image that I have found. All that I got is > Warning: unable to open an initial console. as the last message after which the whole thing hangs. And yes - I'm getting the same > Unimplemented SPARC system call 188 > Unimplemented SPARC system call 188 > Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init! > Press L1-A to return to the boot prom on official d-i beta3 tftp image. Gerald probably you can try the http://www.phunnypharm.org/pub/for/sparc-folks/disks-sparc/current/sparc64/tftpboot.img image since it doesn't attempting to kill init. May be you will have more luck with it. BTW - please send me an URL of image that boots fine on your machine (If it will be woody image - well I can live with it). -- Respectfully Alexey Nezhdanov
