Well... I got some free time so I set up a beige G3 with a known-good floppy drive and brand-new IDE hard drive. I decided to see how far I could get on that machine with a floppy based installation. Last night it couldn't find a disk drive to partition. I wondered if it was just a matter of the high-speed IDE controller I was using on that box, so this time I connected the disk drive to the integral IDE controller on the mother-board.
I never got as far as partitioning a disk tonite... It got to the point where I was supposed to pick a repository mirror. Every one I tried it said was "bad"! Peaking at the alt-F2 console and running "ps" showed that it was complaining about the "Suite:" line in the Release file, which says "testing". Apparently that wasn't what it was looking for. It didn't do that last night?!?!? Has the format of the Release file changed? Got any clues? Thanks! Rick -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
