Everything is OK until just after setting up the disk mounts I am dumped into the main menu. Selecting "Install base system" just returns me to the main menu without an error message. Since it's just the business card size iso, I'm guessing it couldn't find the files it needed to continue, but I might have expected a question asking which method I'd want to use to install the base system. (I don't have DHCP, so if that's used to determine if a network install may be applicable, it would fail here.) Since I was trying a network install, so I went back up to "Load installer components" and selected "network" and "mirror". MINOR BUG: the final character of each line on the menu for installer components is missing. i.e: "... networ" Network/mirror configuration was OK, I re-selected "install base system" and the packages were pulled from the mirror. MINOR BUG: after each package is downloaded the message reads "Verifying %s..." After the reboot base-config came up, but I couldn't use it because the system didn't seem to recognise my USB keyboard. I was locked out until I could get access to a PS/2 keyboard. I guess this is a bug with the kernel package, or with whatever chooses the kernel package to use, or whatever determines which modules to load. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 225683-done) by bugs.debian.org; 16 Mar 2004 05:33:51 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Mar 15 21:33:51 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from kitenet.net [64.62.161.42] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1B37D5-0002tw-00; Mon, 15 Mar 2004 21:33:51 -0800 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (dial174.pm3bloun1.bloun.naxs.com [216.98.69.174]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "Joey Hess", Issuer "Joey Hess" (verified OK)) by kitenet.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8905C17F15 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, 16 Mar 2004 05:33:50 +0000 (GMT) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id F1A986E118; Tue, 16 Mar 2004 00:33:07 -0500 (EST) Date: Tue, 16 Mar 2004 00:33:07 -0500 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: fixed in beta 3 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="82I3+IH0IqGh5yIs" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.5.1+cvs20040105i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_12 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-2.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_12 X-Spam-Level: --82I3+IH0IqGh5yIs Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello, a while ago you reported a problem with the Debian Installer. I think that your problem is fixed in the just released beta 3 of the installer. If you're still able to install to the hardware you tried it on, please download it from http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/, and try it again. Feel free to file another installation report. A few of the new features of beta 3 include: - new easy to use partitioner that supports automatic partitioning and LVM - grub as the default boot loader on i386 - wireless networking support - 2.4.25 kernel, with SATA support and security fixes - support for the XFS filesystem Note that your original installation report may have been split up into multiple individual bug reports. If so this message closes only one bug, and not other issues you reported. --=20 see shy jo --82I3+IH0IqGh5yIs Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAVpGTd8HHehbQuO8RAgXaAJ0bmFg7jBXWdmiZ9UaqiG33rO0yGACght4A VZjtJW4KlVnuSZXniq8M9VE= =V3tq -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --82I3+IH0IqGh5yIs-- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
