I'm spanish. It seems that the new HP ProLiant DL360 G3 has changed the Compact Smart Array 5i disk controller for the new HP Smart Array 5i, and the second is lightly incompatible with te first one. In fact, the installation process detects the Compaq controller (insted of HP controller) but it can't make it work. So, therefore may be in some way incompatible. Adittional information: The process goes until "Installing the kernel package kernel-image-2.4.22-1-386" after forcing the "Automatically partition hard drives" because I can't make it manually. The error message is: Unable to install the selected kernel. An error was returned while trying to install the kernel into the target system. Kernel package: 'kernel-image-2.4.22-1-386' This is probably a fatal error. You might try to select the kernel installation step again on the main menu. That will allow you to select another kernel to install OK, but no other kernel is available to select from the menu, this is the only one. Device recognized: /dev/cciss/disc0/disc (Compaq Smart Array/ 34728MB) I've found informarion about the real driver at http://opensource.hp.com/opensource_projects.html and follow the link 'CCISS Driver for Linux' that goes to http:// sourceforge.net/projects/cciss Here are sources for different kernel versions (including 2.4.22) but I´ve never compile the kernel and still less from an uncomplete system :( I hope all this information will be usefull ----- Mensaje Original ----- De: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Geert Stappers) Fecha: Jueves, Febrero 26, 2004 2:28 pm Asunto: Re: Bug#234887: Net install over HP ProLiant DL360 G3 > On Thu, Feb 26, 2004 at 01:12:55PM +0100, beu wrote: > > Package: installation-reports > > > > INSTALL REPORT <snip what="62 lines"/> ----- End forwarded message ----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
