Hi All, I just tried the netinst on two machines. With a direct ethernet connection to the internet, the first went no problems. The second machine has an ethernet card for a home network, and I wanted to install over the modem - that was a pain. It wanted to use eth0 for installation, and after I removed the card it then happily looked for and used the modem.
Some suggestions: - an option to choose whether to use eth0, ppp0, or others for network installation. - when it asks for the hostname (on the first boot and then after the reboot), it should be obvious whether it wants the domain name appended. Maybe enter the hostname and domain name on the same page, and pass the answers to base-config too? I had problems with a link to awk and kernel files existing, but that sort of thing has been mentioned in here before. The rest of the installation was straightforward. If any of this should go as bug reports then let me know :). Regards, Daniel. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
