Yes, there are bug reports about this.

Welln this is outside the scope of Debian installer, I'm afraid. You
should look at XFree packages documentation and the whole bunch of
explanation about the gazillion drivers for the gazillions of video
cards which exist in the wonderful world of PC's......:-). Not
forgetting, of course, the free/non-free nature of some of them (from
memory, there are non-free issues with nVidia stuff)
