This is because the german translation was updated *after* the package
release....

This has to be investigated....

Well, by quickly looking at the code, the country list there is taken
from the iso_3166.tab file (same system than countrychooser). However,
it does not use iso_3166 translations.

This should be reported as a bug.

They are useful for people using "man base-config" *after*
installation. So, strictly speaking they're not part of the debian
installer translation....
